17 oz all purpose flour
(or 2 and ¼ cups)

½ cup raisins
1/2tbs. almond flavor

Half an hour before making the pie.
Remove the butter from the refrigerator to make it soften.

For the dough.
Mix the softened butter with the sugar and almond flavoring. Then add the egg and pinch of salt.Only then, add the flour.

Stir the mixture very little, which should remain crumbly and put it in the fridge for at least half an hour to rest.

Making the pie.
Grease a 9″ round baking pan. Drain well and dry raisins  and apples, and then mixed them together.

Spread part of the dough into the base of the pan (do not be afraid to use your hands!).  Making sure to cover the edges by about an inch, then spread the mixture of apples and raisins.

Finally, crumble the advanced dough.

Bake at 365 F for about 40 minutes (in the middle rack).
Serve cold, dusted with powdered sugar.

Tips: This pie is even better to be eaten the day after. So, don’t be afraid of making it one day before enjoying it.

If kept refrigerated the pie lasts even a week.
